The Mosaic Story

Mosaic began as the vision and dream of Pastor Jim & Natalie Eaton. While serving a seminary internship in a church plant in Cape Town, South Africa, God birthed in their hearts a vision of a new church for a new generation—young, culturally-diverse and growing—in and around the gateway cities of America. Through subsequent ministries in Maryland, Europe and Chicago, God cultivated and intensified this vision.

In the summer of 2003 at the invitation of several pastors in the Washington area, the Eatons moved to Frederick County to start Mosaic from scratch, starting with nothing but faith and a compelling vision. On November 6, 2005 we held our first service in the JBK Theater of Frederick Community College. A small crowd showed up, many of whom had not been to church in a long time. From that first day, God has been responding to our heartcry to him by reaching out and supernaturally touching an increasing number of people.

Mosaic is a new church in a growing, changing Frederick County, seeking to reach people who are asking questions about God and spiritual things. Whether you’ve recently moved here or have lived here for a while, our vision is to be a place where people of all backgrounds, cultures and experiences find faith, hope and love through Jesus Christ. We invite you to journey with us as we follow Jesus Christ in his mission to love and serve this incredible community. Welcome home!
